Amanda focuses her practice on trusts and estates law. She enjoys working with clients at all stages of life to develop a comprehensive estate plan that will provide her clients with peace of mind. Amanda happily works with her client’s current team of professional advisors to coordinate all details of the estate plan from beginning to end. Amanda is excited to take on more complicated estate plans, as well as the more simple plans and tasks, such as drafting powers of attorney for a college student, reviewing an existing plan, and coordinating account titles and beneficiary designations to fund a trust, because she believes all of these tasks are important and has seen first-hand how small or large planning can have a major impact. In addition, Amanda frequently represents fiduciaries during probate or trust administration.
Amanda also practices business law, which allows her to assist business clients in a variety of ways, including new entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate transactions. Often, there is an overlap with business planning and estate planning. Amanda has the ability to guide a business owner through the unique aspects of their estate planning.
Additionally, she has had the opportunity to assist in the creation and management of multiple local and national nonprofit organizations. Amanda has worked with many nonprofit organizations to obtain tax-exempt status. She also assists nonprofit organizations with their annual corporate and solicitation filings.
Amanda is based in DeWitt’s Brookfield office, but she also frequently travels to the firm’s Madison office to work with clients.
She enjoys volunteering and giving back to the community and is very involved with a few local nonprofit organizations. Amanda resides in the Lake County Area with her husband, who is a firefighter. In the summer, they love spending time on
the nearby lakes with their friends and family. They also frequently travel to Florida to visit family.
